New York Guided Trophy Turkey Hunts
Stuyvesant Outdoor Adventures is a New York Outfitter providing the best guided trophy turkey hunts that New York State, and the entire Northeast, has to offer. Our guided turkey hunts are both action packed and very informative; focusing on calling and set-up techniques. Due to our abundant flock of monster Toms (mid 20 lb. range is the norm), we have earned the nickname “The Saskatchewan of Turkey Hunting.” While hunting your trophy turkey from one of our numerous custom blinds and tents carefully placed on over 3000 acres of prime, private, New York State hunting land, our experienced guides will gladly share their years of knowledge and experience with you; helping you hone your skills and create a successful technique.
Our guide staff also spends a great deal of time scouting year round and adjusts blind locations constantly as patterns develop and emerge. Accommodations are exclusively provided by Stuyvesant Manor, the former estate of Hollywood Icon Sidney Poitier. At Stuyvesant Outdoor Adventures, we deliver a complete experience combining superb New York State Hunting with first rate lodging including all the comforts of home.
Stuyvesant Outdoor is even endorsed by QUAKER BOY GAME CALLS and here’s what our Resident and Quaker Boy pro-staff member Joe Judd had to say:
“Hey, Joe Judd here from Quaker Boy Game Calls letting you in on one of the best hunting tips I’ll ever give you. In Columbia County, New York there’s a great hunting facility that brings with it some of the best and most quality-oriented hunting opportunities that you’ll ever experience in this region of the country… It’s second to none for whitetail deer, wild turkey, and waterfowl hunting. And when you put that together with a great hunting facility, suddenly you have a dream come true in regards to a quality hunt that’s on the level of beyond belief!”
– Joe Judd, Quaker Boy Prof-Staff
YOUR HUNT
Our guests arrive at 5pm. Hunters assemble in our Clubhouse where everyone is checked in and given their own private locker and suite number. Upon settling in, our chef will serve a family style dinner from appetizers to desserts. At this time hunters can mingle with other guests and Stuyvesant Outdoor Adventures guides and staff. After dinner, or at any point during your stay, guests are welcomed to enjoy our facilities many amenities.
Each day your hunt begins with a full American or Continental breakfast (depending on season). Our hunters are welcomed to fill their thermoses with coffee if they wish and pack up some snacks for their time in the field or woods. After breakfast our hunters will get field ready and make their way to their assigned blinds with their guide. Don’t be afraid to ask your guides questions, they love to share their knowledge and enjoy informing fellow hunters. Your guides will remain and call Turkey for you throughout your sit. Spring turkey hunts conclude at 12 noon at which point you return to the lodge for a hearty lunch. Many of our hunters book the five station wobble trap range as others simply relax and enjoy the scenic setting in anticipation of the next days hunt. If you harvest a bird your guide will have it brought back to the lodge where it will be field dressed. As with calling tips, if any hunter would like to learn how to field dress turkeys our guides are willing to share their knowledge. If you would like to mount your bird we can recommend several excellent taxidermists.
Habitat and Blinds
Stuyvesant Outdoor Adventures is located in an agricultural community, so what does this mean to you as a hunter? Basically we hunt over seemingly endless food plots offering a variety of different nutrition types that help the turkey populations thrive. In spite of the huge flocks there is no competition for food. Comprised of more than 3600 acres, our land offers both the experienced and new hunters a variety of hunting environments with planted fields and dense hardwoods. Our custom blinds and tents are strategically placed to provide our hunters with the best opportunities.
At Stuyvesant Outdoor Adventures, we take great pride in the herd management of all our animals. Hunts are limited to a select number to provide each hunter with a personal experience and keep the pressure off of the animals.
